This page is delightfully goofy. It plays on the idea that Bee Man's human and bee characteristics are at odds. His need for revenge stems from the human in him, but is temporarily overcome by his bee need for pollen, which results in this humorous exchange.

There are several gags at work here. First, there's the bad disguise, which the oblivious shopkeeper buys. This situation is exacerbated by the fact that even Bee Man's odd way of speaking doesn't phase her. She's so nice and innocent that surely nothing sinister could be at work here, right?

Lastly, the question must be asked: why does Bee Man need to use his briefcase (now full of bees) to attack the shopkeeper when he could very easily just use his bee body? It's redundant and complete overkill, and I'm proud of how the joke worked out. Plus, I figure it might be really hard to get all of those bees into that hat and trenchcoat.
