This is not a bad action scene. The backgrounds are gray and bland, but I like everything else. It's a much more involved, intricate fight scene than what we've seen so far, with emphasis on a lot of dodging and parrying of moves, as opposed to just showing the hits. It's an attempt to illustrate that while Evil Bad Guy Ninja is the superior fighter, Stu is almost his equal.

I haven't talked too much about why Stu and Evil Bad Guy Ninja hate each other. Actually, on this page, Stu reveals he is reluctant to fight, and that it's Evil Bad Guy Ninja who is pressing the issue. The only clue we get is that it's a grudge that dates back to when they were younger. We know from very early in Volume 1 that they are old training partners. Maybe Stu won an award or an honor that Evil Bad Guy Ninja thought he deserved? Could it be something that petty? Or something much more personal?
