Bonus Comics
[Important
note! Comics appearing on the Extras
page are not part of official Mike and the Ninja canon and may reference the strip's old title, Chewy Ninja Monkey Bars.]
Squawler Series - This was a 6-strip series
that appeared in the Squawler (the
school newspaper) during my senior year of
high school. It's pretty incoherent, and I'm
not quite sure what I was thinking now that
I look back on it. As you'll see, I scrapped
the story mid-series because I overheard some
girls in study hall reading it and not understanding
what was going on. I should have just stuck
with it, but I have a bad habit of trying
to please everyone, which usually gets me
nowhere.
#1 - Pardon the Interruption
#2 - Do Not Provoke
the Gorilla
#3 - Here's Where
the Audience Didn't Get it Anymore
#4 - A Somewhat Fresh
Start
#5 - A Philosophical
Difference
#6 - All Good Things...
Miscellaneous
Comics
A
New Olympic Sponsor - Mike fights back
as Chewy Ninja Monkey Bars sells out! This
comic appeared on the front of my Advanced
LA 3 binder during my junior year of high
school.
Quill
and Scroll - Stu teaches Mike how to fight.
This comic appeared on the 2000-2001 Quill
and Scroll shirt at good ol' Jackson High
School.
Alternate
Comic #13 - This was the first color strip
ever and was originally supposed to be #13,
but my first attempt at coloration went horribly
awry and the strip was scrapped. At this point,
I had planned for Mike and Stu to realize
they were suddenly in color, and the strip
was going to be in color forever from that
point on. Things didn't work out.
Guest
Comics
Izzie
the Fascist Dictator - At one point in
time (and perhaps she still does), my friend
Izzie had legitimate plans for world domination.
This is a glimpse of our future, after Izzie
has taken over the world. Image is big, so
big that it won't even fit in the site's layout--prepare
yourselves! |
