Not-so-great dialogue here, but I love the "very secret base" sign on the fence of a base that's enormous and clearly not very secret.

One unintentional parallel in the three volumes of Mike and the Ninja is that in each book, Stu tells a story about either his past or about the history of ninjas, and we get a few pages of flashback out of it. It wasn't pre-planned for Stu to tell a story in each book, or even for Stu to tell stories, at all--things always worked out that way, though. This first one is my favorite of the three. I think it best conveys a serious and historically significant situation in an absurd, comedic way.
